2 remixes from Fred Deakin (Lemon Jelly/Airside) of classic Post-Punk/Electronic tracks (Human League 1979/Manicured Noise 1980) Originally appearing on a limited white vinyl 7" on CTR in 2009 with a stickered fold-around cover that is now long deleted..
The tracks were meant as a "taster" for Jon Savages celebrated "Fame" Post-Punk 1978-81 collection - which was to follow shortly after but due to licensing issues was delayed until its eventual 2012 release.
Now these tracks are available again, and for the first time digitally, since 2009..

This is very close to what I heard/felt everytime we visited the grandparents in Runcorn.
Ominous dread. Bleak dystopia. Concrete and terraced houses. Plus the air smells! MonkeyMajiks
Sweden's Catharina Jaunviksna, aka Badlands, creates gently glowing '80s-inspired pop - think of it as new wave in pastel rather than neon. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 2, 2021

Great record. wears it's influences proudly ..but retains a sliver of identity that is uniquely British and has a northern feel to it..I think that these geographic musical vignettes are realy evocotive of northern Newtown Uber estates and satellite communities..I hope this translates to a wider audience for him...he deserves the attention. give him his due .NOW . christopherogley
